Tony Robert Burton
April 13, 1965 – March 25, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving father, son, brother, proud grandfather, and dear friend. Tony “Tone” Burton passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, NL on March 25, 2026 at the age of 60 years.
Survived by his son Bobby Burton (Katie) and daughter Stacey Burton (Adam); grandchildren Chase, Blayke, Adalynn, Ella, Gordon; mother Lorraine Burton; and sisters Peg Hiscock (Phil), Cindy McNiven (Bob). Loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by his father Robert Burton; grandparents Aaron and Dorcus Osbourne and William and Florence Burton.
He was an incredible dad who always wanted the very best for his children and supported them in every way. As a grandfather, he was simply the best—always making his grandchildren laugh and doing whatever he could to make them happy.
He was loved by many friends, especially during his years with Valard Construction. He was known for his hard work, kind nature, and contagious sense of humor. His laugh, smile, and caring ways will never be forgotten.
Though his passing is heartbreaking, it does not define him. He had the biggest heart, and it was that heart that carried him through so much. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He will forever live on in the memories and laughter he shared with all of us.
A visitation for family and friends to celebrate the life of Tony will be held at Fillatre Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from the hours of 3 – 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Janeway Foundation.
