Obituary of Mary Adela Penashue
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Adela “Nika” Penashue announce her passing on March 25th, 2026, at Hart Haven Care Home in Sheshatshiu, NL, at the age of 98 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her Children: Louisa, Emma, Rose, Catherine, Justine, Basil, Joseph, Andrew; Adopted son: Antuan; Grandchildren that she raised as her children: Sonia, Florence, & Tommy; 25 Grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; and 39 great-great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Mary Adela is predeceased by her Husband: Louis Penashue; Mother: Shunien Rich; Children: Hank, Antuan, & Maurice; Brother: Etienne Rich Sr.; and Grandchild: Francine Nuna.
A wake will be held at the CYN in Sheshatshiu on Friday, March 27th, beginning at 4:00pm.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, March 28th at the Roman Catholic Church in Sheshatshiu, beginning at 11:00am with Father Joe officiating.
Internment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sheshatshiu, NL.
