Obituary of Monica Penunsi

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Monica Penunsi announce her passing March 28^th, 2026, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 61 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Patricia White, Daniel Nuna, and Darren Penunsi; brothers: Henry Mistenapeo, and Gordon Penunsi; sisters: Mary Lou Penunsi, Mary Jane Penunsi, Angela Penunsi-Cole, Patricia Nuke, and Monique White;  grandchildren: Emma and Evan White, and Joshua and Joachim Dyke; 3 great grandchildren; as well as many aunts, uncles, extended relatives and friends.

Monica was predeceased by her parents: Sebastien and Mary Philomena Penunsi; brothers: Joseph, Eric, Thomas and Philip; sisters: Theresa Gregoire, Margaret Penunsi, Louison Rich, Isabel Penunsi, and Naissa Penunsi.

A visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday, March 30^th, 2026, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

A wake will take place on Tuesday, March 31^st, 2026, at 58 Edwards Drive, Sheshatshiu, NL starting at 2:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday,  April 1^st, 2026, from the Roman Catholic Church, Sheshatshiu, NL starting at 11:00 am with Father Joe officiating.
