Rex Herbert Chesley Brake
June 28, 1946-April 1, 2026
 

The family of the late Rex Brake announce his peaceful passing at the palliative care unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on April 1, 2026 at the age of 79 years. 

He leaves behind two sons: Ernest and Gregory (Peggy); two grandchildren: Matthew and Hailey; and one great granddaughter: Scarlett; six sisters: Doreen (Dougal), Jacqueline (Glyn), Ula (Curtis), Verna (Wade), Norma (Derick) and Louise along with his two brothers: Alvin (Ethel) and Danny; and his sister in law: Rowena. He also leaves a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Rex was predeceased by his parents:  Chesley and Sylvia Brake; his sister, Baby Delphine; two brothers: Ronald and Ramsey; and a special nephew: Tyrone Park. 

We would like to thank the staff at Mountain View House in Meadows for their kindness to Rex over the last 18 years and as well the doctors, nurses and staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital and Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care during his stay.

As per Rex's wishes, cremation has taken place; A graveside interment service will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026 beginning at 3:00pm at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Meadows with Rev. Madonna Boone officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in Corner Brook.
