Obituary of Elaine Vera House

December 1, 1951 - April 3, 2026

Elaine was born December 1, 1951, in Eddies Cove West.  She was the third child of Eudora and Maxwell Young.  Elaine and her six siblings were raised in Bonne Bay, NL.  

On December 3, 1971, Elaine married the love of her life Harris House and together they raised three children and lived in River of Ponds.  

Leaving to mourn daughters Nicky (Parry), Tammy (Ronnie) and son Monty (Jennifer).  Grandchildren Dylan, Larry, Tori, Nicole, Baylie and Landon.  Great grandchild Callie and fur babies Bella and Cooper.  Her special sisters Joan and Peggy.  Along with a large circle of  extended family and friends.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband Harris, her parents Eudora and Maxwell, her sister Myra and her mother and father-in-laws Clarissa and Chesley House.  

Elaine and her late husband Harris enjoyed many years going to the cabin, playing cards, berry picking and hunting.  Elaine moved to Port au Choix and eventually to the manor in Port Saunders after his death.  She enjoyed knitting and spent hours working on her diamond dots.  Her love of cards and playing a game of poker on a Saturday night was something she really enjoyed.  Who could forget Bingo.  Elaine enjoyed playing Sunday evening T.V. bingo at her sister Joan and Edgar's, along with many friends.  No foul language when she wasn't winning or when she heard one of her friends names at the manor.  She loved to take road trips with Joan and Egdar and going to visit her great nephew Kayson in Eddies Cove.

Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who always put her family first.  She will be greatly missed and  will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place.
