Obituary of Aaron Pittman
Please share a memory of Aaron to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Aaron Pittman announce his peaceful passing surrounded by family on Monday, April 6th, 2026, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, at the age of 83 years.
Aaron, a native of Cook’s Harbour, NL was a man of many skills; Fisherman, Bus Driver, Fiberglass Boat Builder, Heavy Equipment Operator, Maintenance Worker- he was willing to try it all. In Cook’s Harbour Aaron was called upon to do everything from wiring houses to completing income taxes. His skills were limitless. In later years he ran the household and was sure to have groceries picked up, mail delivered and supper on the table when Winnie arrived home from work.
Family was of the utmost importance to Aaron. He was quite proud of all but especially his grandchildren. He took every opportunity to spoil them all not caring if pop and chips weren’t appropriate before lunch.
Aaron leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Winnie; children: Floyd (Michelle), Bonnie (Floyd), Aaron, Petrina (Robi) and their families; Glenn Pittman and sister-in-law Lourrie Pittman.
Aaron is predeceased by John and Eliza Pittman, John and Bessie Woodward, Isabella, Ronald, Stella, Deborah, Ivy, Gladys, Everton, Wayde, Brandon and Clay.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2026, from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL starting at 2:00 pm with Rev Nellie Thomas officiating. As per Aaron’s wishes, burial will take place in Cook’s Harbour at a later date.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Labrador Health Centre as well as Rev Nellie Thomas for their care and support.
