James (Jimmy/Bo) Carew
June 18, 1982 – April 5, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that the family of James (Jimmy/Bo) Carew announce his passing on April 5, 2026, at the age of 43.

Jimmy will be forever loved and deeply missed by his parents, James and Sonia Carew; his beloved son, Curtis Piercey (Cali), whom he reminded every day that he loved with all his heart; his sisters, Kelly Piercey (Danny) and Sue Carew (Dave), who have lost a piece of their hearts; his niece, Hayley Carew (Curtis); and his nephews, Nathan and Hunter (Chloe), all of whom he cherished dearly.

He also leaves to mourn his longtime partner, Amanda; his stepchildren, Brookelyn, Nadia, and Lucas; his cherished fur babies, Axel and Coco; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Jimmy was so much more than his addiction. He was an animal lover with a deep affection for his pets, and he found great joy in fishing and camping—especially when spent with Curtis. He will be remembered as a caring, funny, and compassionate man who was always supportive of those he loved. He never ended a telephone conversation without saying, “I love you.”

Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Monday from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14th at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, with Reverend Kay Short officiating. The family invites all who knew Jimmy to bring their fond memories to share, honouring the many beautiful parts of his life—because Jimmy was so much more than his addiction.
