Lucy Lavallee (nee Samson)
Birth date: December 31st, 1948
Death: April 11th, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Lucy Lavallee (nee Samson) at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, at the age of 77, on April 11, 2026. She leaves to mourn her husband, Myron Lavallee, her daughter, Robyn Martin (Christopher), and her precious granddaughters, Autumn Martin and Avery Martin. sister, Geneva Samson, brothers Riley, Clarey, and Walter Samson. brothers-in-Law: Dan (Cathy) Lavallee, Jim(Germane) Lavallee, Pete Kennedy and Murray Filmore. Sister-in-law, Jean Jesso. She also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Lucy was born and raised in River of Ponds. She left at a young age and moved to Corner Brook where she was worked as an elevator operator in both hospitals there. This is where she met her special friend Shirley Cave, and they remained friends for a lifetime. 

Lucy later moved back, and she met her husband Myron. They moved to Port Saunders, where they raised their daughter Robyn. Lucy was know mostly for being a stay at home mom and wife. She worked hard every day to take care of her family. Her main job was cleaning, as Robyn likes to say, as she was always cleaning. Lucy was also know to be a care giver. She was always the one to help look after other. She took care of her mom before she went into long term care, she also looked out for her In-Laws when they needed it. She was best known for her Sunday dinners where everyone would gather at her house to eat on Sundays. But later in life she was best know, and proud to be Nanny of her two granddaughters Autumn and Avery. They were her world and she loved them very much. 

Lucy was predeceased by her parents, Ruben and Estelle ( Nee Hodnott) Samson. MIL Carmel Lavallee and FIL Joseph Lavallee. Sisters Mary and Dale. Sister in Laws, Brada, Maisie and Diane. Brothers-in-Law, Wayne, Joseph, Rick, and Reg, and grandson, Christopher. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 16, 2026 2pm - 9pm @ St. Peter's Anglican Church  River of Ponds, NL.

Funeral will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, 2pm @ St. Peter's Anglican Church , River of Ponds, NL. with The Reverend Marie Smith Officiating
