Obituary of Mary Josephine Bennett

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Josephine Bennett, lovingly known as Josephine/Jose/Josie on Friday, April 10th.  at the age of 68 in palliative care with her two sons and family at her side.  She had a direct and fiery spirit, known for her honesty and zest for life, leaving a memorable mark on everyone she met.  Leaving behind her two cherished sons, Clarence Bennett (Natasha Marshall) and Rodney Bennett with her legacy of being true to herself living on in her beloved grandchildren Ace, Josie and Hunter (Saskatchewan) who brought immense joy to her life. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Wally (Bev), Diane Beck (Tom), Joe, Sharon Giles (Bobby), and Robby (Judy) (Fort McMurray), as well as her sister-in-law Linda Fitzpatrick, Aunt/friend Bess Kennedy, cousin/friend Sheila Green, friend Pete McWhirter, the mother of her grand children April Fudge and grand-dog Benny.   Her legacy of being true to herself also lives on in her ten nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is now reunited with her parents, Sadie and Jack Fitzpatrick and her brother Wayne Fitzpatrick.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Cancer Clinic and Palliative Care especially Dr. Park and Dr. White, for their care and support.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the SPCA (reflecting Josephine’s love for animals) or a charity of your own choice.

Josephine’s memory will forever be a reminder to live your life on your own terms.
