Obituary of Emile Lavallee
Please share a memory of Emile to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Emile Lavallee on April 17, 2026, at the age of 81 years.
Born in Middle Bay, Quebec, raised his family in Blanc Sablon, Quebec and later made his home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, where he worked hard and built a life grounded in family and kindness. He will be remembered as a gentle and caring man, someone who treated others with warmth, patience, and compassion. His quiet way and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Emile loved spending time at the cabin and on the water. Hockey remained one of his lifelong passions. He was known as a respectful and skilled player, staying active in the game until recent years. One of the memories his family will especially cherish is the opportunity to see him play in a 3-on-3 tournament with his son and grandson. A moment that captured both his love of hockey and his love of family.
A man of Catholic faith, Emile carried his beliefs with him throughout his life. His faith was an important part of who he was and could be seen in the way he lived, with humility, generosity, and care for others.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, the love of his life, his wife Stella, his children Deon (Donna), Sheldon (Louise) and Claudelle. His grandchildren Baxter (Kelly), Carrie (Jim), Martina (Brad), Martin, Tyler, Ian (Layla) and Emma (Marcel). His great-grandchildren Riley, Morgan, Caden, Brandon, Blake, Brady, Brock, Leah and Iris. His great-great grandchildren Everleigh and Roman. His siblings Lionel (Frances), Loretta (Camel), Josie (Stan), Camille (Sadie), Eda (Corb), Marcella (Real), Ricky, Terry (Clarissa), and Joel (Jackie) and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
He was predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Victoria, and his siblings Chelsey, Paulette and Dennis.
Friends and family may attend the visitation which will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Fillatre’s Funeral Home from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm.
