CARD OF THANKS

We, the family of the late Joan Bartlett, would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who expressed their condolences through visits, phone calls, emails, cards, flowers, gifts of food, and messages of support.

Thank you to all those who made charitable donations in Joan’s memory.

We extend a special thank you to the management and staff of Mountain View Retirement Home in Corner Brook. Mountain View was Joan’s home for 14 years. During that time we got to know many of you well and you became what felt like extended family. You took care of Joan’s every need on a daily basis and we are so appreciative of all that you did for her.

Thank you to Reverend Canon Tanya White, organist Reverend Monica Coffin, All Saints Church choir, and the members of All Saints Anglican Church for the beautiful service and for honouring Joan’s favorite hymns. To the Outreach Committee, our thanks for the luncheon reception after the service.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department of Western Memorial Regional Hospital. We are grateful for the care and compassion Joan received from you all. Thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit. You went above and beyond to ensure Joan was kept comfortable during her final days.

Thank you for your compassion to our entire family. We are also sincerely grateful to the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home for their professionalism and kindness throughout this difficult period.

Even though we know that Joan is now at peace, it certainly doesn’t lesson the loss we feel. She will remain forever in our hearts.

Ross and Joan enjoyed a large circle of friends with whom they regularly socialized, despite Joan’s ongoing medical challenges. Often faced with physical adversity, she kept her spirits high, teaching us all how to persevere with grace. Always trying to make things effortless for those around her, she consistently, prioritized others ahead of herself. Her strength of character was particularly demonstrated as she navigated life after Ross passed in 2008.  Joan was a spiritual person and derived great comfort from her long-standing association with All Saints Anglican Church, Corner Brook.
