Obituary of Thelma Hare

Thelma Hare (nee Fiander)
October 8, 1932 – April 22, 2026

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Thelma Hare announce her passing. Our mother, mother – in – law, grand mother, and great grandmother passed at the Calder Health Care Centre in Burgeo at the age of 93 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Gloria (Bruce), Jim (Floss), Pat, Rhonda (Jeff), Harry and David (Tamber), and sister Madge. Grandchildren; Jeff, Paul, Nicole, Jade, Olivia, Owen and great grandchild Lydia. She also leaves with fond and loving memories a large circle of nephews, nieces, friends, sisters – in – law Theresa and jean, along with brothers – in – law Rupert and Victor.

Thelma was predeceased by her husband Norman, parents Harry and Annie, brothers Robbie, Aubrey, Bill, and Leonard. Sister Gladys, brothers – in – law Horace and Rupert Buffet. Sisters – in – law Marion, Molly, May, Marjorie, daughter – in – law Gloria Hare, and son – in – law Joe McCarthy.

Thelma was devoted to her church and was the organist at Faith United Church for 65 + years, while being an active member of the U.C.W. In her spare time, she loved to read, knit, do puzzles, crosswords and especially spending time at their cabin in the warm summer months.

As per Thelma’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the Faith United Church on Sunday, April 26^th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm with the funeral to take place on Monday, April 27 at 2:00pm with Rev. Matchem officiating with burial to follow at the Burgeo Community Cemetery.
