Dennis Murphy

March 7, 1943 – May 6, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dennis Murphy, known to many as “Murph”, announce his passing on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Manie Murphy (nee Snooks) in 2022.

He leaves to mourn with loving memories his son Rodney (Brenda) and daughter Diane (Lorne); grandchildren Ashley (Chris), Olivia and Trevor and great grandson, Liam. Dennis is survived by his sister Agnes Pynn of St. John’s, a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to his companion, Priscilla Dunphy, for providing loving care and support in his final years.

Predeceased by his parents William and Bridget Murphy; siblings Cyril Murphy, Dolores Edwards, Thomasine Parsons, Mona Poirier, Clara Nolan, Leonard Murphy, William Murphy, Edwina Coleman and Frances Tarrant.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Many thanks to the caring staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
