Dwyer

Erin

1976 - 2026

It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Erin Marie Dwyer, announce her passing on Friday, May 8th at her family residence, St. George’s at the age of 49 years.

Erin leaves behind her devoted husband, Shawn Perrier, and her two beautiful daughters, Piper and Ashlyn, who were the center of her world. She is also deeply loved and remembered by her parents, John and Edie Dwyer, and her sister, Nuala Dwyer, with whom she shared many years of close friendship, despite their 9-year age gap and who remained an important part of each other’s lives. Also mourning her passing are her sister-in-law Wanda Perrier (Todd Rubia) and brother-in-law Kevin Perrier.

Also holding her close are her longtime best friend Annie Hepditch of Ingonish Beach, and her cousin, who was always more like a sister, Helen Lee of Calgary. Erin leaves behind a large circle of family and friends who knew her well, including her cousin Andy Hickey, who often found himself on the receiving end of Erin’s unofficial “therapy sessions,” whether he asked for them or not, as well as her homecare worker, Kera Hillier, who became a fast friend, as most did with Erin, and her Aunt Sylvia, who lovingly referred to her as ‘Pet-Pet’,  stepped in as Erin’s home support on weekends and whenever needed.

Erin had a love for music and was known for her strong will and stubborn nature, which she inherited from her father. She was so funny, with an incredible sense of humor—it was hard not to laugh when you were in her presence. Above all, she loved her girls deeply, and they meant everything to her.

She was predeceased by her sister, Kelly Ann, her grandparents Jack and Loretta Lee of Shallop Cove, Patrick and Mary Dwyer of Heatherton, her in-laws William (Bill) and Jacqueline Perrier of St. George’s, her special great uncle Dougie Young, and her special great aunt Barbara Kovich, who was like a second mother to her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, St. George’s from where the Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, May 15th at 10am with Father Maurice O’Quinn and Father Edmund Dantes officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Shallop Cove.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Diabetes of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 37 West Street, Stephenville Crossing. The family guestbook may be signed at www.fillatre.ca

The family would like to acknowledge the care and compassion shown to Erin by the nurses and staff of the Stroke Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital.
