October 18, 1965 - May 14, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the late Jiwen Li on May 14, 2026 in Corner Brook at the age of 60 years.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife Serena and his cherished children Danny, Timmy, and Angelina.

Jiwen was predeceased by his parents Bai Qi Li and Bao Lain Lin.

Jiwen was a good husband and father who was very proud of being able to provide for his family and loved to make elaborate spreads for special occasions, especially gatherings with friends. Jiwen loved when his friends visited his restaurant to see him, even if it was just a quick “hello”, it always left him smiling.

Jiwen and his family moved to Corner Brook in May 2012 to open the Jiwen Garden Restaurant and he took great pride in serving delicious meals to his customers. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by the community.

A visitation for family and friends will take place at Fillatre Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from the hours of 1:30-4:00pm with cremation to follow. A funeral service will take place at All Hallows Parish, 109 Humber Road on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 beginning at 10:00am with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Li family. Following the burial, everyone is welcome to join the family at Jiwen Garden Restaurant, 82 West Street for a meal and refreshments to honour Mr. Li’s life beginning at 12:00 o’clock noon.
