Walter was a gentle, kind man of integrity who would do anything for anybody. He had a fun loving way about him and enjoyed telling jokes and stories of the past. Walter was an RNC Officer for 25 years. He was stationed in St. John’s for much of his career and later transferred to Corner Brook where he retired as Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Legion in Mount Pearl and more recently as Sergeant-at-Arms of Branch 38 Legion in St. George’s. Walter was very creative and loved building and doing woodwork. He was always thinking outside the box. He had many loves, but none more than his children and grandchildren; his three grandsons completely filled his heart.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation at St. Joseph’s RC Church in St. George’s on Wednesday, May 20 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm where the funeral will take place on Thursday, May 21 at 10am officiated by Father Maurice O’Quinn.
