Obituary of Sandra Patricia Hardy

Sandra Hardy passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the age of 82.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Reginald; her parents Thomas and Lily Hunter and siblings Rex and Anita.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Helen (Jim), Peter (Bev) and Leslie. Grandchildren Richard (Amy), Lauren, Jessica (Davey), Melissa (Rod), Bradley (Sarah), David, Emily and Thomas. Great Grandchildren Ben, Anna, Connor, Tucker, Tanner, Harper, Gracie, Brooklyn, Oliver and Lily, and her niece Janice (Lorne) who all held a special place in her heart.

Sandra was born and raised in Salvage on the Eastport Peninsula. She attended Memorial University where she obtained her Teaching Certificate. From there, she moved to Trout River where she became Vice Principal and met her husband, Reginald. She went on to become a successful businesswoman, proudly owning and operating Hardy’s Variety Ltd. in Deer Lake. Sandra had a love for reading and crossword puzzles. She was her happiest in her kitchen preparing homemade meals for those she loved.

A funeral service will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, 21 Farm Road, Deer Lake on June 12, 2026 at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery.
