Card of Thanks
The family of the late Anton (Tony) Specker would like to express our thanks and gratitude to everyone who has shown your support, kindness and comfort through this difficult time.
To everyone who sent food, flowers, messages, cards, phone calls, donations, and who dropped by the house, we thank you and appreciate them.
A special thank you to the Sacred Heart folk choir for the beautiful music at the service.
Another special thank you to Crystal at Fillatre’s Funeral Homes. All the time you spent with the family, your compassion for helping us through the process from beginning to end, we really appreciated it.
Although we cannot thank everyone individually, please know your kindness did not go unnoticed.
Anton (Tony) Specker
March 4, 1937 – May 23, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anton (Tony) Specker announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on May 23, 2026, at the age of 89 years.
He leaves to mourn with loving memories his wife Annette (nee Bennett) the love of his life for 67 years; his sons Norman, Albert (Mona), and Stephen; daughters Jo Ann (Ken) and Theresa (David); grandchildren Chad (Erin), Ryan, Peter (Meaghan), Scott (Lexie), Desiree (Luke), Hillari (John), Kody (Minnie), Stephanie (Matt), Jacob, and Ethan; and 10 beautiful great grandchildren; siblings Carol (Dave) and Clara; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Anton and Bertha; brothers George, Joe, Otto; sister Theresa; and daughters-in-law Glenda and Sarah.
The family would like to thank the staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their wonderful care.
A funeral service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 21 Upper Nicholsville Road, Deer Lake on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 2 pm. The family will be receiving friends at their home in Pynns Brook after the service. Interment will follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
