Card of Thanks

The family of the late Marjorie Marie Rowsell would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us during this difficult time.

We sincerely thank the palliative care doctors and nurses, as well as the community health nurses, for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Mom throughout her illness.

We are deeply grateful to all who made donations to the Society of  St. Vincent de Paul and All Hallows Church in Mom’s memory. Thank you also to everyone who requested mass intentions and made donations for a mass to be celebrated in her honour.

A special thank you to Father Terry and all of the altar servers for the beautiful funeral mass and for the comfort provided through your prayers and support.

We also wish to thank all who sent sympathy cards, flowers, food, phone calls, messages, and expressions of kindness during this time of sorrow. Your thoughtfulness and support have meant so much to our family.

Lastly, we extend our sincere appreciation to Fillatre’s Funeral Home for their professionalism, care, and guidance throughout the funeral arrangements.

Your kindness and support will always be remembered by Stephen, Terry Rowsell and family.

Marjorie Marie Rowsell (Nolan)

1942-2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Marie Rowsell announce her peaceful passing, surrounded by her loving family, at the Western Health Palliative Care Unit on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the age of 83.

Marjorie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love for her family was the guiding force of her life.  The center of her world were her beloved sons Stephen and Terry Rowsell.

Left to mourn are her sons Stephen and Terry (Meegan); her sisters Lillian Hayes , Priscilla Boutcher, Dorothy Gough (Bill), and Pat Nolan; sister-in-law Sharon McHugh; her lifelong friends Dot Brake and Theresa Stratton; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her good friends Angela Batstone and Colleen Carey for the love and care they provided to Marjorie in her final days.

Left with cherished memories are her grandsons Riley and Adam, and her great-grandson Remy.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Alphonsus Rowsell; her parents, Marjorie and James Nolan; her parents-in-law Stephen and Ethel Rowsell; her sister Ann Moore; brothers John, Martin, Dick, and Dunstan Nolan; sisters-in-law Stella Regush, Patricia Pike, Sheila Boland, and Bernice Jones; and brothers-in-law Gerry, Patrick, Stephen, Aiden, and Michael Rowsell.

Marjorie will be remembered for her kindness, strength, sense of humor, and the unconditional love she shared so freely with those around her. She will also be remembered for her deep faith in God and her willingness to help with the CWL whenever she could. She enjoyed a good game of cards, bingo, and loved to dance. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Ave. on Monday, May 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at All Hallows Church, 109 Humber Rd. on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery, with a reception afterward at All Hallows Church. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to All Hallows Church or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
