Julia Aucoin (née Robia)

1952 - 2026

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Julia Aucoin announce her peaceful passing on June 17, 2026, at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, NL, at the age of 73.

Born on December 13, 1952, in Loretto (Red Brook), Julia was raised and grew up in RedBrook, NL. She dedicated many years of her life as a Student Assistant, working with countless children across various schools on the West Coast. Julia held a deep love for every child she met, and she truly loved her job and her co-workers with all her heart.

Beyond her career, Julia was an extraordinarily talented individual and a highly skilled seamstress, inheriting the beautiful craft from her mother. Known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, she was the person anyone could call at any time; she always knew exactly what to say or do in any situation. Julia found immense joy in decorating forevery holiday, but Christmas held a special place in her heart. Together with her husband Eugene, she created a beloved family tradition of baking and sending gingerbread cookies to all their children—a special memory looked forward to every year. Her family will also fondly remember her unique quirks, like her love for rocking in her rocking chair and her habit of standing on one leg like a stork while doing the dishes.

Julia leaves to mourn a wide circle of friends and family who loved her dearly. She is survived by her devoted husband, Eugene Aucoin; her loving children, Paula Jack (TimothySr.) and Theresa LeCointre (Adam); her cherished grandchildren, Hannah Robia-Riche,Tristan Robia, Timothy Jack Jr., and Torie LeCointre; and her precious great-grandchildren,Sophia Allen and Sydnie Allen ; step-children: Melissa AuCoin, Derek AuCoin ; grandchildren: Devin Green, Dawson Green, Oliver AuCoin and Emerson AuCoin.

She was reunited in peace with her predeceased parents, Albert and Mary Robia; her sisters, Lisa and Helen Robia; and her brothers, Johnny and Lodvick Robia.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church, Port Au Port, East from where the Mass of Christan burial will take place on Wednesday, June 24th at 10am with Father Maurice O'Quinn officating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Berry Head, Port Au Port, East.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

The family wishes to extend their deepest, heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre for their exceptional care and compassion. They would also like to thank all the home care workers who provided dedicated support and care for Julia over the years.
