Obituary of Lucy Margaret Upwards

Lucy Margaret Upwards (nee Parsons)

February 7, 1949 – June 24, 2026

It is with great sadness and many fond memories that the family of Lucy Margaret Upwards announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook, NL at the age of 77 years. 

Leaving to mourn her daughter Lisa (Darren), grandchildren Jake Smith, Samantha Smith, and Gabrielle Chevalier, siblings George Parsons (Sandra), Sam Parsons (Debra), Wanda Brake, Ruby Anderson (John), Robert Parsons, and Laura Martin (Chris), in laws Roxy Upwards, Phyllis Duval and Sandra Upwards (Gilbert), many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless amount of friends. 

Lucy is predeceased by her husband Elliott, son Jason, parents Noble and Valsie Parsons, in laws George and Margaret Upwards, brother in laws Don Brake, Terry Upwards, and Cecil Duval. 

Lucy will be forever remembered as the First Stop to all her family members whenever they would visit from the mainland (as she would say). She was the life of every gathering with her silly giggles, her love of dance (wiggling her behind) and trying to occasionally sing a song. She took great pride in her appearance, and she would make sure everyone knew that after she passed to draw on her eyebrows. She was a kind, giving, loving soul and there is not a person who met her that didn't fall in love with her instantly. Lucy has joined her husband and is holding her precious son in her arms in heaven.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Cremation will take place and there will be no formal funeral service.
