It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Dorothy Spencer (Dot), age 73, on June 25, 2026 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL.

Dot leaves to mourn her brother Calvin (Jeanette), brother in-law Chesley, and sister in-law Denise, her nieces Trudy (Collin), April (Derek), and Caitlin (Andrew), nephew Sheldon (Allison) and her great nephews Joshua (Kailey), and Rylan, and her great niece Raya. She also leaves behind her very special friend Lorraine Hulan and a large circle of aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.  

Dot will be eternally reunited with her parents Simeon and Annie May Spencer, siblings Bernard, Donald, Mildred, Roy, and Mary and sister in-law Sharon. Dot worked many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse and as an Independent Living Coordinator with  Escasoni Place in St. John’s, NL. She later moved home to Burgeo to be close to her family whom she cherished. Dot loved the outdoors and being connected to her aboriginal roots. She had a great love for reading and spending time with her cats. As per Dot’s wishes cremation has taken place in the trust of Fillatre’s Funeral Home. A service will take place at a later date.
