Obituary of Hilda Michelin

With profound sadness, the family of Hilda Michelin announce her passing on July 2, 2026, at her home in Happy Valley–Goose Bay, NL, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 83 years old.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her daughter Jodi Cabot (Dennis Cabot), son in law Ivan Brown; grandchildren Lucas, Blake, Harper, Kerri, Christopher (Tracy), Kelly (Blair), Krystal (Nick), Shavonne (Stuart); and great‑grandchildren Nickolas, Jaxson, Sophia, Jacqueline, Carson, Caiden, Madilyn, Mackenzie, Emily. As well as close friends who became family.

Hilda is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Sadie (Maurice) Thevenet, Judy (Lloyd) Renton, Joanne (Gord) Sansford and her brother Tony Michelin. Sister in law Marilyn Michelin and brother in law Jim Lethbridge.

Hilda was met at the heavenly gates bingo hall by her daughter Jackie Michelin, parents Herbert and Olga Michelin, her common‑law spouse Clayton Diamond, and siblings Marjorie Simms (Gil Simms), Ronnie Michelin, and Juanita Lethbridge.

As per Hilda’s wishes there will be no funeral service, a cremation will take place. If you wish to remember Hilda, please do so in a way that reminds you of her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Catherine Crocker for her years of compassionate care, especially in Hilda’s final days. Deep appreciation is also extended to the nurses of NL Health Services and the Nunatsiavut DHSD Home Care Staff for their support and kindness.
