Obituary of Gloria Jean Kennedy
In Loving Memory of Gloria Jean (Peddle) Kennedy
October 8th, 1952 – July 7th, 2026
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Gloria Jean Kennedy, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Gloria's life was defined by her boundless love, selfless generosity, unwavering strength, and deep devotion to her family.
Gloria leaves behind her beloved husband, Wayne Kennedy, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were the center of her world: Jamie Kennedy and his wife, Elana; their children, Nathean Kennedy, Gavin Kennedy and Julia Kennedy. She was a proud great-grandmother to Tyeson and Maveryk Kennedy, the beloved children of Nathean and his significant other, Taylor Farnsworth. She is also lovingly remembered by Gavin Kennedy’s fiancée, Jamie Blaylock.; Terry Kennedy and wife Coralee Kennedy, and their children Dominic and Xander Kennedy; Crystal Corcoran and husband Walter Corcoran, and their children Shayla and Emma Corcoran.
Gloria is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Pauline (Don) Ash, Cynthia Parsons, Glennis Keats, Diane (Robert) Larsen, Gary (Donna) Peddle, Sylvia Clarke and Carl (Mona) Peddle, as well as her brothers- and sisters-in-law Brian (Sandra) Kennedy, Jocelyn (Hector) Ingram, Gary Kennedy, Debbie (Edward) Perry, Abbie Peckford, Dana (Tony) Drover, Janice (Dave) Rogers, Babara-Ann (Steve) Mercer, and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Hubert Peddle, who will surely be waiting to welcome her with open arms. She was also predeceased by her mother-in-law Dorothy Kennedy, brothers-in-law, Dale Kennedy, Harold Keats, Harold Clarke, and Glen Peckford.
Gloria's greatest joy was the love she shared with her family. She loved without conditions, without limits, and without end. Her kindness, compassion, and ability to make everyone feel valued left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She loved life and laughed often with an infectious laugh that will never be forgotten. Whether offering words of encouragement, a listening ear, or a warm embrace, Gloria gave freely of herself and touched countless lives.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the legacy of love she created. Her spirit will live on in the lives of her family, her friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of 7 West at St. Clare's Hospital for their exceptional care, compassion, and support, which helped Gloria spend her final days in comfort and peace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gloria's memory to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, a cause close to the family's heart.
Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook on Saturday, July 11 from the hours of 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev.
