Tom Hewlett – Celebration of Life, September 24, 2021

 

The Hewlett family would like to express heartfelt gratitude for the sympathy, love and support extended to the family during this time of loss.

To all of you who sent cards, messages, telephoned and provided food for Tom’s Celebration we are deeply grateful.

We appreciate the efforts of all who travelled to be with us at this most difficult time and wish you a safe journey home.

Also, the family would like to thank all who contributed and participated on the formal ceremony on September 24.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas John Hewlett announce his passing on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Audrey; sons: Tom Jr. (Susan) and Robert (Renata); daughter: Lorraine and Carolyn; step-daughters: Colleen (Arthur) Robichaud and Audrey (Blaine) Hamlyn; step-sons: Joseph (Sally) Crocker and Jarvis Crocker; grandchildren: Celeste, Bruce, Christopher, Miriam, John, David, Madeline, Victoria and Evan; step-grandchildren: Charmaine (Jim), Joel (Lisa), Luke, Brian, Terri Lynn, Chantel, Corey and Leigh-ann (Kat); step-great-grandchildren: Jack, Hunter and Charlee; cousin Harry (Joan) Wells; brother-in-law Norman (Judy) Anderson; sisters-in-law: Linda (Gordon) Wheeler, Doreen (Jerome) Barry and Myra Anderson; special friends: Bob Feaver and Leonard Aucoin; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth, father Arlanda, son Christopher, sister Mary, brother Charlie, mother and father-in-law Mabel and James Anderson, brothers-in-law Gordon, Wilson and Calvin Anderson. Thomas was a very kind and loving soul, he spent 40 years working at the mill in Corner Brook. He loved the great outdoors and spent much time hunting and fishing and he loved a good game of cards. A very special thank you to all the staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and Corner Brook Long Term Care for their kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. All Covid-19 Government regulations will be followed social distancing and face masks required. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Thursday, September 23 from the hours of 2-5 p.m. A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Chapel with Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Red Cross.
