It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward "Ed" Brake announce his passing at his residence on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at the age of 63 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Loretta; son Eddie, Calgary and daughter April (Billy) Gallant, Benoits Cove; three grandchildren: Jasmine, Brooklyn and Savannah; two sisters: Kitty (Marshall) Walters, Edmonton and Diane Brake, Corner Brook; brothers Bobby (Ruthann), Tony (Paula) and John Jr.; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Anna Brake and Grandmother Elizabeth Brake. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m., at which time Fr. Jim Robertson will have prayers. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. There will be no formal funeral and burial to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or The Janeway.
