Harold Tucker Sr.
April 1, 1927 - March 12, 2021
Reefs Harbour, NL
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Harold Tucker Sr. announce his passing on the morning of March 12, 2021, just two weeks short of his 94th birthday. He leaves behind his sons Harold Jr (Fanny Ann), and Dean, daughter Gloria, grandsons Jamie (Shelley) and Boyd (Heidi), greatgrandddaughters Alyson (Cletus), Alexis, Anna and Aria; sisters-in-law Eliza Tucker and Nellie Way; a large circle of much loved nieces and nephews; and a very large circle of family and friends.
Dad was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Julia, his parents, Philomen and Mary (Gould) Tucker; brothers Joseph, Philip, Nathaniel and Clyde; sisters Bridget, Johanna and Sylvia; parents -in-law Steven and Alice Way; sisters-in-law Minnie (Philip) Tucker, Virginia (Nathaniel) Tucker, and Marjorie (Gilbert) Taylor; brothers-in-law Abraham Coombs, Edmund Beaudoin, Thomas Applin, Benjamin Way, Raymond Way, and Gordon Way.
Dad was a man who loved to talk to anyone and everyone and nobody was a stranger. He was in his element talking about politics and he had some very strong opinions. Dad was a very mild-mannered man who rarely raised his voice. He loved his family and was happiest when he was spending time with his boys and his great granddaughters. Dad always enjoyed spending time around the cottages and chatting with all our visitors. He had formed many friendships over the years and we know he will be missed by all.
Our family would like to extend our most sincere appreciation and thanks to all the staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre in Port Saunders for the wonderful care you all gave to our dad while he was with you. You all are awesome! Also, a most heartfelt thank you to Sheila and her
staff at Northern Retirement Home for taking such excellent care of dad until he needed more care than you could give. We will be forever grateful. We know that there are many of you who would like to pay your last respects to our beloved dad, and we can only imagine the send off he would have gotten but for COVID. Funeral service will be Monday, March 15, 2021 at 2 pm at the Anglican Cemetery in Reefs Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Reefs Harbour or to Long Term Care Unit at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders.
