Gilbert Hamlyn

June 13, 1948 – March 15, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Gilbert Patrick Hamlyn announce his passing at this home on March 15, 2021, surrounded by his family and loved ones at the age of 72.  Gilbert was a fisherman and restaurant owner. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Phyllis; children: Rick (Terrilynn), Novelee (Gabriel); grandchildren: Ethan, Paige, Cole and Carter; siblings: Gary Hamlyn, Tom Hamlyn (Cynthia), Karen White (John), George Hamlyn (Donna), Nancy Crtichley (Eric); sister-in-law Gladys Hamlyn. As well, Gilbert will be missed by many nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Blanch and Albert Hamlyn; brother Lawerence Hamlyn; mother-in-law Maud Dobbin, father-in-law Joseph Dobbin; brothers and sisters-in-law Tommy Dobbin, James Dobbin, Clifford Dobbin, Delbert Mailman and Marthia Dobbin. Due to Government Covid -19 restrictions a private Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at St. Theresa's Church in Port Au Choix with Father Raj officiating, followed by the interment at  Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery. As expressions memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
