Obituary of Larry Sampson

August 26, 1960 – March 16, 2021

It is with great sadness that we, the family of the late Larry John Sampson announce his passing on the morning of March 16, 2021 at the age of 60 years.  He leaves behind his wife Jenesta, son Jonathan and daughter Georgia, his siblings Alton (Blenda), Donald (Betty), Lillian (Lemuel), Clifford (Patsy), Lloyd  (Joanne), Edmund (Joanne), Andrew (Thelma), Angela (Peter), Christine (Trent), Mom and Dad House, Melita (Craig and Family), Gail House and Family.  Larry is predeceased by his parents Charles and Marjorie, his first wife Ruth Sampson, Uncle Derrick Payne, Brother In-Laws Doug, Flynn, Titus House and Jerry Penney.

Larry was a very loving, caring and mild-mannered man.  He loved his family and was the happiest when he was spending time with them!  He enjoyed spending time outdoors doing things he loved, boil–ups, fishing, ski-dooing, and in the woods.  He formed many friendships over the years and always left a lasting impression on everyone he was in contact with.

Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to all staff of Eastern Health and Labrador Grenfell Health for the wonderful care you all provided during his time of sickness.  A very special thank you to Claudine Foster for showing exceptional care and support over the last few years.  Last, but not least, a very special thank you to Pastor Craig, Pastor Sheila and boys for all your love and support and especially Pastor Craig for spending time with the family this past week in Happy Valley Goose Bay.

We know that there are many of you who would like to pay your last respects to our beloved loved one.  We can only imagine the send off he would have gotten but for COVID.  Funeral Service will be Saturday March 20, 2021 in Port Hope Simpson.
