Hilda May Billard (nee Rose) of Burgeo passed peacefully away in the arms of her family at the Calder Health Care Center on March 31, 2021 at the age of 82 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Hilda was born in Grey River on November 8, 1938 and relocated to Burgeo with her parents, brothers, and sisters in her early teenage years where she met her late husband Archibald (Bud) Billard. They had nine children who will sadly miss her, Wayne (Susan), Laura (Glen), Theresa (Gord), Dave (Debbie), Mitchell (Angie), Harvey (Darlene), Joyce (Dave), Gary (Donna) and Connie (Mike).

She leaves behind in mourning nine grand children; Jamie (Miechel), Ross (Beth Ann), Julia (Chris), David (Leslie Ann), Meagan (Lewis), Paul (Crystal), Jordan, Cheyenne (Jordan) and Michael and 13 great grandchildren, sister Alice (Art), sister and brother in-laws, nieces and nephews, special neighbours Zachary and Zoe.

Waiting for her at Heavens gates are her husband, mother Eleanor, father George, brothers Nathan, Ben, Victor, Wilfred, and sisters Mary, Hannah. Also her friend Melita Spencer.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Calder Health Care Center and her home care workers for the care they provided in her final months. Visitation will take place from Faith United Church on Thursday from 2-4 pm, (masks and social distancing required), followed by the funeral service on Friday, April 1st at 2:00 p.m., Reverend Harry Oaks officiating. The interment will follow at the Burgeo Community Cemetery.
