Obituary of Hilda Hewlett

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilda Hewlett (nee Butt) announce her passing at the Western Long Term Palliative Care in Corner Brook on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

She will be sadly missed by her son Eric (Lydia) of St. Stephen, NB, her special granddaughter Wendy (Rick) of Brampton, ON. a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Leonard; parents William and Adelia Butt; siblings: Hayward, Alice, Augustus, Nellie, Gideon, Douglas, Clarence, Barron, Rowena, and Bonnie.

Visitation to a maximum of 20 people in compliance with Covid-19 restrictions will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive on Sunday, April 18^th from 2-3 pm and 4-5 pm. facemasks and physical distancing required. Funeral service will take place at Salvation Army Citadel, 20 Church Street, Deer Lake on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm to a maximum of 50 people (facemasks and physical distancing required throughout the service) with Majors Shannon & Jeff Howard officiating. Burial to follow at the Salvation Army High Street Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Western Memorial Hospital, Western Long Term Care and Deer Lake Manor for the remarkable care of our Mom. Special thank you to cousin Margie & her wonderful granddaughter Sasha in Corner Brook as well as Linda, Glenn and Beverly in Deer Lake. We would also like to thank Judy at Fillatre’s and the Salvation Army in Deer Lake for their help and support.As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
