It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elva Eldred Rideout announce her passing on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Corner Brook Long Term care at the age of 103 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Mervin (Lorraine) Rideout, Grand Falls-Windsor, Caywood (Dora) Rideout, Corner Brook and Linda (Wayne) Brake, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Austin “Bruce” Rideout, sons Austin (Ivy) Rideout and Rodney “Bruce” Rideout, daughter Evelyn (Fred) Cake, parents Alfred and Rachel Pardy, sisters Helena, Mary and Nellie, brothers Ralph, Wilson, George, Clyde and Harvey. A private family visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Captains Darren and Danette Woods officiating. (Funeral service is by invitation only). Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel Memorial Fund.
