GEORGINA THOMAS
April 27th, 1944 – April 10th, 2021
L'Anse Au Clair, NL
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Georgina Thomas, surrounded by family at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre in Forteau, on April 10th, 2021 at the age of 76 years.
Born on April 27th, 1944, Georgina resided in L’Anse au Clair, with Clyde her loving husband of 59 years. She was incredibly proud of her 5 children, their spouses, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and felt blessed that they lived so close to her.
Georgina was an incredibly proud homemaker and loved to cook for her family, as she did on numerous occasions at her home throughout the years. She was a woman of many talents who could turn her hand to almost anything, including crocheting, knitting and quilt making. She also enjoyed volunteering with local organizations, especially the Women’s Auxiliary.
Georgina was survived by her husband Clyde; her 5 children Glenda (Rob), Karen (Arthur), Keith (Wanda), Kerry (Jody) and Gaye (Kevin); her 13 grandchildren Dana (Merlin), Darren (Simone), Geoffrey (Shelley), Rebecca, Jessica, Kirby (Stephanie), Scott, Karrie, Kristopher, Alyson, Sara, Finlay and Ethan; her 3 great-grandchildren Jesse, Lexi and Tessa; her brothers Douglas (Jessie), Harvey (Madeline) and Clayton (Delores); her sisters Betty (Wilfred) and Margaret (Wesley), brothers-in-law Dennis (Phyllis) and Clarence, and sister-in-law Gladys, as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, extended relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her father and mother, Leslie and Violet Flynn, sisters Harriet Flynn and Thelma Piercey, and son-in-law Keith Hancock.
There will be a private funeral service on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021 at 2pm at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, L’Anse au Clair, by invitation only.
