John Pius White passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 92.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Beatrice Woods, Pius jr. (Loretta), Maude Woods (Don), Brian (Dianne), Cora Young (Dominic), Audrey LeRoy (Hilroy), Bonnie Gallant (Ernie), Gary (Angie), Sharon White, Carl (Laurie), Cory, Corina, Pop’s little man Shawn White Parsons, 27 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; sister Mary Janes, sister-in-law Theresa White, special niece Melinda White, as well as numerous nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Genevieve; six children: Iona, Wayne (Jack), Leonard, Kenneth, Darren and infant baby White; grandson Darren Woods, granddaughter Glenda LeRoy, great-great grandchild Carter; parents Jack and Elizabeth; sister Maggie; brothers: Joe, Angus, Howard.  Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Friday 2:30- 3:30 pm, 6:30 -7:30 PM and 8-9 PM to a maximum of 20 people, masks and physical distancing required. Due to Covid-19 Government restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 17th, 2021 from Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Benoits Cove with Father Jim Robertson officiating.  Cremation to follow.  As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alzheimer.ca. The family would like to extend a Thank You to the staff of 4 South Unit at the Long Term Care, Corner Brook.
