It is with great sadness that the family of the late Darlene Sexton announce her passing, at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the age of 61 years.  She leaves to mourn her loving husband Gerald, her daughters April (Lenny) Blanchard, and Shannon (Josh), her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Hunter, Noelle and Reid, as well as her father Raphael Alexander, her sister Kim (Jimmy) Greenough, brothers Paul (Diane) and Grant (Sharon) and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.  She was predeceased by her mother June Alexander and her in-laws, Alice and Leonard Sexton.

Darlene was a woman of tremendous strength and courage, always making sure everyone was taken care of and putting others before herself.  Darlene was extremely dedicated to the youth in our area a well as a teacher and community leader.  She was a very proud Mi’Kmaw woman in our community and embraced every aspect of her culture.

As per Darlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place and Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. In Stephenville Crossing.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Due to Covid Restrictions, a limited number of people may attend the Funeral Service, but must sign in for contact tracing, sanitize and wear a mask
