It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Grant Payne announce his passing at Corner Brook Long Term Care on April 24, 2021 at the age of 76, surrounded by family and friends. He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years, Ella (nee: Major); sons Jeffrey (Kimberley), Edmonton, Alberta, Sheldon (Stacey), Sackville NS; precious grandsons: Bryce, Landis and Decker whom he loved dearly. Brothers Cyril (Sandra), Pasadena, Milton (Amanda), Parsons Pond, Ingram (Suzanne), Corner Brook; sister Diane Sweetapple (John); special friends Marilyn and Richard Caines; The major family: Victor, Lloyd (Joyce), Tom (Christine), Cleo (Sandra), Mary Harding, Major Linda Janes (Wilson), Cynthia Roberts (Warren), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was pre=deceased by his mother & father Evangeline and Leonard Payne, sister Aggie, mother and father-in-law Alma and Wallace Major; brother-in-law Fred Harding, and sister-in-law Georgie Major. Special thank you to caregivers Brittany Kean, Erica Carter and the staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care 3 South B for the beautiful, compassionate care given to Grant during his 2 week stay. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Mark’s Avenue Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 pm and 7-9 pm to a maximum of 20 people in compliance with Covid-19 Government regulations, Mask and physical distancing required. A private funeral service will be held at St. David of Wales Church in Pasadena on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Amy Ritcher and Rev. Joe Pagano officiating. The funeral service will be lived streamed on Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd facebook page. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. David of Wales Church.
