Helen Lovinia (Nellie) Ricketts (nee Anderson), daughter of Hazel and Alfred Anderson, was born on September 11th, 1934 in Burgeo, NL. Nellie was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) and they had shared 50+ years of blissful marriage together.

Nellie passed quietly at the Calder Health Care Centre, in Burgeo, on April 27th, 2021, at the age of 86. Leaving in sadness, but with many fond and happy memories, are sons, Craig and Brian, granddaughter Patti Ricketts and special friend Glenda Dollimount. Brother Sandy Anderson (Bernice), sisters Queenie Benoite (Wilson), Margaret Anderson (Charlie), Patsy Ingram (Bob), and Joan Anderson, sister-in-law Sandra Anderson (Ronald), many nephews and nieces, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Nellie was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, Jack, her parents, Hazel and Alfred, her niece Rhonda, her sisters Mary, Dollie, Bessie and Eva, and her brothers Gordan, Bill, Ronald, Roy and Alfred.

Nellie was a kind and gentle soul with a smile and a conversation for all. She loved to laugh, and her quiet spunk shone through as she reminisced and as she lived her life. She lived that life with sincerity, kindness, and acceptance. Her love for her family was pure and deep. Her life as an angel shall simply continue.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 2 PM  from St. John the Evangelist Anglican church, Burgeo, with Rev. Elsie Rose officiating. The interment will follow at the Burgeo Community Cemetery.
