It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Purchase announce her passing on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Sir. Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Linda (Brent) Fradsham, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Derek (Patricia) Purchase, Corner Brook, Pamela Purchase (Brian), Ellershouse, Nova Scotia  and Donald Purchase (Velitchka Hristova), Mississauga, Ontario; grandchildren: Jennifer, Jarrad, Michael, Heather, Stephanie, Sarah, Nicholas, Mitchell and Andrew; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Joan (Walter) Humber, Corner Brook; brother Hubert (Victoria) Ridgeley, Harbour Breton; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Garfield Purchase, parents Eugene and Hilda Ridgeley, sisters Madeline Kendell, Pearl Billiard and Eliza Sibley, brother Eugene Ridgeley Jr. A very special thank you to her home care workers Marg Strickland, Claudine Smith, Laurie Porter and Hilda Burke for their care and compassion over the years. A private funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
