Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook RITA LORETTA HICKEY at the age of 80. She will be lovingly remembered by her 8 children: Bridget Hickey, Owen Hickey, Lucy Sheehan(Ben), Benoits Cove, Peter Hickey, O’Connell Centre, Myles Hickey (Susan), Antigonish, NS, Anthony Hickey (Christal), Ontario, Benedict Hickey, Loretta Hickey, Benoits Cove; 9 grandchildren: John, Dustin, Lorijon, Adam, Thomas, Matthew, Randy, Craig, Stacey, 1 great grandchild Chloe; sisters: Cecilia Gallant, Maude Dormody, Bridget Boland (James), brothers: John McCarthy, Jerome McCarthy, Peter McCarthy (Pearl), Leo McCarthy (Bella); sister-in-law Clara Hickey, brother …in-law Gerald Hynes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband Frank Hickey, March 6, 1998, parents Patrick & Martha McCarthy, brothers Patrick McCarthy & Lawrence McCarthy, sister Theresa Hynes, brothers-in-law Stephen Gallant, Edward Dormody, John Boland, Owen Hicket, William Hickey and Stephen Hickey, sisters-in-law Sarah McCarthy and Christina McCarthy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 13th at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of The Sea Church, Benoits Cove Father Bernard Buckle officiating followed by the interment at the Church Cemetery.
