Joseph John Tremblett

December 6, 1965 - May 15, 2021

Joe passed away at the Labrador Health Centre surrounded by his loving family after his courageous battle.  Joe left this world just as he faced life, with determination, kindness and dignity.

Leaving behind to mourn are his loving wife Nellie Decker; sons Matthew (Crystal), Joel (Caitlin) and Kyle (Brianna); grandchildren, Gracie and Joey; brothers Bob, John, Bill and David; sisters Ann, Karen and Christine; mother-in-law Vivian Decker; sisters-in-law Georgina and Winnie; nieces and nephews; friends and co-workers.

Joe was predeceased by his father Joseph Valentine Tremblett, Mother Ruby (Nee) Stone, and father-in-law, Jerry Decker.

Visitation will commence at the Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Monday, May 17th, 2 to 4 pm. and 7 to 9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment at the Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. Viewing and funeral services are by invitation only, due to the current restrictions.

Joe was born in Botwood but lived most of his life in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, a community that he loved and where he raised his family.  Joe was a strong advocate in his community, always lending a hand where needed, and strived to make the lives of others better. His passion and empathy for others was evident in his volunteer service.  He served on many committees; President of the Lion’s Club, member of Knights of Columbus, Kinsmen Club, Helping Hands Committee, Shriner’s bingo caller and volunteered where and when needed. Joe was a member of the Town Council of Happy Valley- Goose Bay; one of his proudest accomplishments.

Joe had the gift to always bring a smile to your face and his upbeat personality drew people like a magnet.   His motto in life was "always be the best you can be, to think of others before thinking of yourself" this describes Joe to the core.

Family was the most important role in his life.  His profound love for Nellie and his boys was second to none.  He was a dedicated and proud husband, father, grandfather and brother.  Although he was a humble and kind soul, he took on the world striving to make it a better place for everyone, especially our seniors.  Joe was a prime example that good still existed in the world.  He will be tremendously missed by everyone who knew him.

Our family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional loving and compassionate care given to Joe by the nursing staff and doctors who held our hands and led us through this difficult journey. We are eternally grateful and wish to express our sincere gratitude and love to Linda, Joey, Megan, Shannon, Kara and Nicola who went above and beyond their duties. You all have a special place in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted by the family to aid in the funeral expenses.
