Obituary of Rob Flynn
Robert Fitzgerald Flynn
March 28, 1964 - April 8, 2020
West Bay, NL
It is with deep sorrow and sadness of heart, that the family of Robert Flynn, “Rob” announces his passing, on April 8, 2020. Rob passed away at the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital in Ontario, after a brief illness. He was 56 years of age. He is predeceased by his father, Roderick Flynn.
Rob was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. He leaves to mourn his wife, Matilda (Tillie), son, Colby and dear mother, Susan Flynn; his sisters, Dolores (Georgina), Philomena (Jerome), Belinda (Chad), Mary (Chuck), Amanda (Terry) and his brothers, Brian (Ada), David (Venecia), Larry (Sandy), Damian (Tina), Stephen (Wanda), Perry (Cheryl) and a large circle of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins; also mourning are sisters, brothers and in-laws’ of the Barter family. He also leaves to mourn a large circle of friends and his beloved dog, Champ.
Rob was a man who loved everyone, family or friends. His out- going personality was such that he was beloved by all. When he walked into a room or gathering he would bring with him a “ray of sunshine”. He had an enormous smile and an even stronger hug. He always managed an “I love you” in so many conversations and we all remember how he was a great talker. His smile and laugh was a big part of his colorful personality. He always had a warm greeting for others and would knock on many doors to visit family, old friends and neighbours on a whim. He never needed any formal invitations to stop by to enjoy a visit, to share a smile or laugh and so on.
Rob loved his cars, especially antique models, and everything motorized. He was a keen man at fixing and creating just about anything. His career was a Millwright and there was practically nothing he could not fix or reuse somewhere else. His creativity knew no bounds.
We wish to extend our appreciation for the care and kindness given to Rob by the doctors, nurses and staff of the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital.
Due to the ongoing public health advisory regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of Rob's life is now planned with visitations scheduled on July 11, 2021, from 2 - 4 pm and Rosary from 7 – 9 pm. A live streamed Funeral Mass is scheduled for July 12, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment to follow in his home community of West Bay at the Tea Cove Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing.
Rest in Peace Rob, and may you forever soar with the angels. We will miss and love you always!
You will remain forever in our hearts!
