Passed away suddenly at the age of 76 years, James Charles Whitehorne at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on Monday, July 12, 2021. Left to celebrate Jim’s life are his wife of 56 years Marie; sons: Todd (Cassie) and Alex (Kimberly); daughters: Stacy (Craig Jackson) and Flora (Garland Smith); the true joys of his life, his grandchildren: Gregory, Paul, Brady, Maggie, Victoria, Joseph, Stephanie and Brandon; great-grandchildren: James, Dominic, Layla, Christian and Kennedy; his siblings: Charles, Douglas, Robert, Lloyd, Gideon, Stella, Elizabeth, Cora and Dale; also left behind are a large number of extended family and friends, his furry friends Taz, Zora and boots.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Annie and Cyril Whitehorne, brother Alexander, nephews Darren Antle and Jason Payne, sisters-in-law Dot Kendall and Marion Kendall.

As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service.

Jim was born with the salt air in his lungs and the sea in his veins. He sailed the world from Pole to Pole and everywhere in between. His love for boats and the sea was undeniable.
