November 15, 1935 – July 25, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ima Bennett announce her passing on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 85 years. Ima worked as a postmistress in Cow Head for 30 years, where she met and formed many relationships in the community. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Donna Colbourne (Jeff), Heather Pittman (Terry), Cynthia House (Ben), Lori-Lynn Bennett and Juana Bennett (David); sons: Rick Bennett (Janice) and Troy Bennett; grandchildren: Robbie Bennett, Jeffrey Colbourne, Steven Colbourne (Blaine), Stefan Pittman (Maki), Jessica Pittman, Jonathan House (Kim), Meaghan O’Quinn (Billy), Kayla Payne, Krista Payne and Aubrey Roncali; great-grandchildren: Destiny, Hope, Mitchell, Orrick, Keiden, Mareah, Noah, Bo, Marcus, Hailie, Lincoln, Avah, Huxley, Declun, Norah and Eliot; brothers-in-law Fraser Bennett (Hughena) and George Bennett; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Bennett, parents Leonard and Georgina Payne, brother Edmund Payne (Cora), sister Vera Morrison (John), parents-in-law Freeman and Ellen Bennett, sisters-in-law Meta Toope (Francis) and Elaine Bennett. Visitation will be held at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Cow Head on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with a maximum of 25 people at a time, face masks and social distancing required, from where a private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Cow Head. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously or donations may be made to St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
