Please share a memory of Walter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Edmund Biggin of Port Saunders annouces his passing on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at his home in Port Saunders, at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn, his committed and loving wife Mildred, his children Wanda (Gary), Mona (Wayne), Ina (Marty), Gary (Faye), Lisa; Dwight (Rosalie); 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends  He was Predeceased by his three children Walter Jr, twin boy & girl, his grandson Kevin, great-granddaughter Claire, his parents Naomi and James (Patricia), great-grandparents James & Jane Biggin and Brother George (Walter and George were blessed to have shared a special bond that very few had the opprotunity to share).

Walter was born to James and Naomi Biggin at Port Saunders, November 7, 1935. Walter passed away on the same property August 4, 2021 where he and his wife Mildred lived for over 50 years - where they raised their family. Walter spent his early years in Spirity Cove and later moved to Port Saunders with his Family. He was blessed with a loving wife who supported him in his business ventures, which were many.  He was a shareholder in several fishing boats, a fish plant, dry goods, hardware and groceries as well as owner of a construction company Walter Biggin Ltd. just to name a few.  Walter attributed his blessings to the family and business to God.  Walter was very active in the community and served on Town Council as well as many other committees that were successful in much of the infrastucture and Health facilities in the community.  Walter accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour as a young married man and strived daily to live out his life to serve Jesus. That was the way he and his wife Mildred raised their family and they lived by example.

Walter lived his life putting God First , a humble man who did not want recognition for anything he did or accomplished. Walter would say "I'm a sinner saved by grace. It is nothing I have done but what God has done through me.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  2 Timothy 4:7.
