It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert “Rob” Byng announce his passing on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Unit at the age of 63 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Janet of 36 years; son Tim (Dina) and daughter Sarah (Fabian); grandchildren: Penelope, William and Anastasia; as well as Rob’s five brothers and sisters in Ontario, Nova Scotia and British Columbia; brothers and sisters-in-law, extended family, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Predeceased by parents Irving and Lorraine Byng. Visitation will take place on Thursday from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. to a maximum of 25 people at a time. Masks are preferred. There will be no formal funeral service, an interment will be held on Friday, August 13^th at 5:00 p.m. at the old Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benoits Cove with Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Western Memorial Hospital and Western Long Term Care, Palliative Unit, your care, compassion and kindness have been so appreciated.
