Matthew Kenneth James Gabriel
February 23, 1983 – August 22, 2021
It is with broken hearts that the family of Matthew Kenneth James Gabriel announce his sudden passing at his home in CBS on August 22, 2021 at the age of 38 years.
Leaving to mourn, his world, the loves of his life, wife Jennifer (Lundrigan) and son Brayden; parents Kenneth and Pauline Gabriel, brother David (Jennifer), his treasured nephew and niece Taylor and Sarah; mother-in-law Barbara Lundrigan, St. John’s, sister-in-law Robin Lundrigan (Adam Morgan); aunts and uncles: Bill (Karen) Taylor, Debbie (Bruce) White, Maureen (Dave) Doody, Jim (Michelle) Taylor, Steve (Connie) Taylor, Valerie (Melvin) Brett; also leaving to mourn many cousins, friends and extended family. Predeceased by grandparents Jim and Mona Taylor, Edmund and Verna Gabriel, father-in-law Wayne Lundrigan and cousin Adam Taylor.
Matthew was a gentle soul; his warm smile and soft laugh will always be remembered. He loved the outdoors and looked forward to and cherished his hunting trips with his brother, father and nephew. Matthew also loved his Harley and shared his love of bikes with Brayden, but his family was his greatest love.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Friday from 2-4 pm, hosting a maximum of 30 people at a time in compliance with Covid-19 regulations, masks are recommended. Due to Covid- 19 restrictions a private by invitation only Funeral Service will be held at Memorial United Church on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 with Reverend Paul Rumbolt officiating. In keeping with his wishes cremation will follow. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. Facebook page. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to NICU Janeway Hospital, St. John’s.
