It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest Adey announce his passing on September 10, 2021 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 86. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 65 years, Jessie Adey, Children; Darrell (Rosanne), Arlene (Brian Tomlinson), Arnold (Lin), Lori (Kevin O’Brien), and Sheldon (Kelly), Grandchildren; Ian (Christine), Melissa (Rod Beales), Maria (Seth Bennett), Emily, Nathan, Devon, James, Kyra, Great-Grandchildren; David, Ronald, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Brothers; Lloyd and Eugene (Pearl), Sister: Florence, and Brother-in-law; Arthur Wiseman (Dorris). He was predeceased by his Parents; Leaburn and Emily Adey, Infant brothers; Winston and Wilson, Sisters; Doreen, Violet, Lucy, Parents-in-law; Hedley and Lillian Horwood, Brother-in-laws: Herbert Wiseman and George Knot, Sisters-in-law; Rosalie (Ives) Coffin and Lily Adey. Ernest enjoyed life to the fullest, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsmen who loved to spend time camping. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Mount Moriah, and later the Corner Brook Temple. He had a special fondness for the Men’s Fellowship Group, in which he was a member.

The family would like to say a special “Thank-You” to the staff of Corner Brook Long Term Care’s 3 North Unit, who provided continuous care, compassion, and support.

As per the family’s wishes, cremation will take place. Following Covid-19 guidelines, Visitation will be on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 3-4 and 7-9PM at Fillatre Funeral Home in Curling. A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Temple on O’Connell Drive, on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Major Brian Wheeler officiating. Flowers or a donation to a charity of ones choice will be gratefully accepted.
