Glen Leonard Peckford
March 19, 1957 – September 13, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Glen Peckford announce his sudden passing at the age of 64, surrounded by his family at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on September 13, 2021. With fond and loving memories he leaves to mourn the love of his life, wife Abbie (née Kennedy); children Nancy (Jonathan Baker), Mark (Katie), and Kayla (Josh Hayley); his 8 precious grandchildren Ava, Allie, Jesse, Mya, Charleigh, Liam, Declan and Reyna; sister Barbara (Mike Quigley), and brothers Carl (Georgina), Ronald (Patricia), Wayne (Mary), Rudy (Christina) and Gregory (Karen); mother-in-law Dorothy Kennedy, sisters-in-law Jocelyn (Hector Ingram), Debbie (Edward Perry), Dana (Tony Drover), Janice (Dave Rogers), Barbara-Ann (Steve Mercer); brothers-in-law Gary Kennedy, Brian Kennedy (Sandy), Wayne Kennedy (Gloria) and special friends Duane and Doll McCarthy. Glen was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Lydia, brother Walter, infant sister Barbara brother-in-law Dale Kennedy and sister in-law Linda Peckford. Glen will be dearly missed by a large circle of other family, friends and co-workers at Oceanex, Toromont Cat and his dog Skipper.
Glen will always be remembered for his ability to make anyone laugh and lightened any room with his infectious smile. He loved his family and the many family gatherings at his home in George’s Lake. He lived life to the fullest and instilled many life lessons that will forever be carried on by those who loved him most.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Ave on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. to a maximum of 30 people in the visitation room at once. The funeral service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral, Main Street on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 2pm, with the Very Rev. Catherine Short officiating to a maximum of 175 people, followed by Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the memory of Glen can be made to the NL West SPCA.
