It is with great sadness that the family of the late Josephine Cox announce her passing on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 84 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Alvin Cox (Eva), Rudy Cox, Marina Rae (Robert) and Clifford Cox (Grace); grandchildren: Crystal, Nicole, Heather, Tammy, Brett, Chantelle, Chesley and Bronson; great-grandchildren: Dominik, Nevaeh, Zachary, Brody, Ella, Chesney, Emma, Rory, Levi, Aubrey and Zoey; brothers and sisters: Melvin Payne (Shirley), Warrick Payne (Audrey), Una Anderson (Robert), Verna Parsons (Arthur), Bernard Payne (Yvonne), Ira Payne (Maxine), Wanda Curtis (Ivan), Vida White (Larry) and Randy Payne (Connie); sister-in-law Dallas Payne; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Cox, daughter-in-law Trudy Cox, parents Stephen and Lillian Payne, sisters and brothers Elizabeth, Bonnie (Jack), Margaret (William), Edgar (Beatrice), Edward, Abby, Alpheus, Floyd and Stedman. Special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and Corner Brook Long Term Care. A very special thank you to her sister Wanda. Friends may visit St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. to a maximum of 50 people. Granting Josephine’s wishes cremation will follow visitation. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove with Rev. Terry Loder officiating to a maximum of 100 people. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. All Covid-19 Government guidelines will be followed during the visitation and funeral service. Face masks and social distancing required. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Nicholas Anglican Church Memorial Fund or the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
