It is with great sadness that the family of the late Claude Blanchard announce his passing on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Western Long Term, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his two daughters, Marion (Eldon) Park and Gloria Blanchard; two grandchildren: Marty (Carlie) and Brittany (Brenen); two great grandchildren, Kloe and Hayden; brother Gerald (Beatrice) and one sister-in-law Lola (Lloyd deceased); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Bonnie (nee Lovell), son Leo, parents, Edmund and Margaret; sister Lillian (Benny) Wells, five brothers: Curtis (Regina), Jobie (Doily), Eddie, Archie and Harry; special friend, Nonie White; father and mother-in-law Tom and Lucy Lovell; brothers and sisters-in-law: Angela (Albert), Myrtle (Lindsey), Eugene (Faith) and Fred (Dorothy).

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday, October 12^th from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. to a maximum of 30 people at one time. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13^th at 2:00 P.M. from Fillatre’s Funeral home Chapel, to a maximum of 35 people, with Reverend Deacon Terry Loder and Reverend Kay Osmond officiating. In compliance with Covid-19 regulations, masks will be required at both the visitation and funeral with sign in at the door. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Unit for the exceptional care shown to our Dad. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of one’s choice.
